Replace chain tensioner sealing ring - AR05.10-P-7800-04OLD

- Clamp chain tensioner (1) into the vise.
Use protective jaws.
- Unfasten the sealing ring (2) using a small screwdriver (arrow), pry off and remove.
Do not damage the sealing surface of the chain tensioner (1) in the process.
Leaks can occur otherwise.
- Check sealing surfaces on cylinder head and chain tensioner (1) for damage and check for any adhering residues.
If necessary clean sealing surfaces on cylinder head and chain tensioner (1).
- Check oil feed bore for chain tensioner (1) for dirt and foreign objects.
If necessary clean oil feed bores of the chain tensioner (1).
- Lay on a new sealing ring (2) by hand and pre-center with slight pressure on the centering collar (1a).
Always replace the sealing ring (2). Do not fully press on sealing ring (2) yet. The sealing ring (2) adopts the correct position when screwing in the chain tensioner (1). Do not use any additional lubricant or sealant.
- Remove camshafts (1) from vise.
