Disconnect timing chain - AR05.10-P-7601-01SXI

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Insert pressure pin (1) in SPECIAL TOOL thrust spindle (2) and tighten union nut (3).
  2. Screw thrust spindle (2) into pilot bushing (4).

    IMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL pressure pin (1) must not project into beveled tapered area of pilot bushing (4).

  3. Screw pilot bushing (4) into chain breaker tool (5).

  4. Cover timing case recess and cylinder head with shop towels.

    NOTES Parts which have fallen into the timing case recess or in the cylinder head must be removed. Damage can occur on the engine otherwise.

  5. SPECIAL TOOL Fit chain breaker tool (5) onto timing chain.

  6. Screw pilot bushing (4) into SPECIAL TOOL chain breaker tool (5) until the openings on the pilot bushing (4) and the guide (5a) surround the timing chain bolt (6a).
  7. SPECIAL TOOL Screw thrust spindle (2) into pilot bushing (4) and press out timing chain bolts (6a).
  8. Remove timing chain bolt (6a) from the guide (5a).
  9. SPECIAL TOOL Remove thrust spindle (2) from pilot bushing (4) and remove SPECIAL TOOL chain breaker tool (5).
