To disconnect the timing chain the following tooling are required:
case,
chain breaker tool (01) and
thrust spindle (02).
- Cover over timing case slot with a clean rag.
The timing case recess must be secured against parts which are falling down. Parts which have fallen into the timing case recess, must be removed.
Mount chain breaker tool (01) and
thrust spindle (02).
- Fit chain breaker tool (01) on the timing chain (1).
Ensure that thrust piece (03) lies at the pin (arrow) of a timing chain link.
Screw in thrust spindle (02) and separate timing chain (1).
Do not let the pins that have been pushed out fall into the timing case recess.
Remove thrust spindle (02) and remove
chain breaker tool (01).
When taking off the
chain breaker tool (01) do not allow middle lugs on the timing chain link to fall into the timing case recess.
