Disconnect timing chain - AR05.10-P-7601-01MM

IMPORTANT To disconnect the timing chain the following tooling are required: SPECIAL TOOL case, SPECIAL TOOL chain breaker tool (01) and SPECIAL TOOL thrust spindle (02).

  1. Cover over timing case slot with a clean rag.

    IMPORTANT The timing case recess must be secured against parts which are falling down. Parts which have fallen into the timing case recess, must be removed.

  2. SPECIAL TOOL Mount chain breaker tool (01) and SPECIAL TOOL thrust spindle (02).
  3. Fit chain breaker tool (01) on the timing chain (1).

    SPECIAL TOOL Ensure that thrust piece (03) lies at the pin (arrow) of a timing chain link.

  4. SPECIAL TOOL Screw in thrust spindle (02) and separate timing chain (1).

    IMPORTANT Do not let the pins that have been pushed out fall into the timing case recess.

  5. SPECIAL TOOL Remove thrust spindle (02) and remove SPECIAL TOOL chain breaker tool (01).

    IMPORTANT When taking off the SPECIAL TOOL chain breaker tool (01) do not allow middle lugs on the timing chain link to fall into the timing case recess.
