Disconnect timing chain - AR05.10-P-7601-01CD

NOTES When carrying out work on timing case recess, protect this with a clean cloth to prevent small items dropping down.

Parts which have fallen into the timing case recess must be removed to avoid engine damage.

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Assemble chain separating tool (2) and SPECIAL TOOL pressure screw (3).

    NOTES When putting the thrust spindle in place ensure that the SPECIAL TOOL pressure pin touches the timing chain bolt (arrow) of a chain link otherwise damage can occur to the timing chain link.

  2. SPECIAL TOOL Fit chain separating tool (2) onto timing chain (4).
  3. SPECIAL TOOL Screw in pressure screw (3) and separate timing chain (4).

    NOTES Do not allow pin which is pushed out to drop into crankcase. Parts which have fallen into the crankcase must be removed to avoid engine damage.

  4. SPECIAL TOOL Remove pressure screw (3) and remove SPECIAL TOOL chain separating tool (2).
