There are two different variants of the chain drive which can be differentiated between through optical checking. Variant "A" is a chain drive from IWIS and the variant "B" is a chain drive from INA. For a change of the chain drive all parts which engage with the chain must be replaced.
Ensure that no components of the chain drive are confused with each other.
Damage will occur to the chain drive otherwise and therefore of the engine.
Variants of the timing chain can be differentiated between based on the outer link of the timing chain. The outer link of variant "A" (IWIS chain drive) is rounded off and the outer link of variant "B" (INA chain drive) has a tooth form.
