Aid of helper is required for positioning, aligning and prying out the windshield (1). Position vacuum lifter in upper third of windshield (1). Insert windshield (1) at acute angle to A-pillar. Otherwise the process becomes unnecessarily difficult, increasing the risk of the windshield (1) hitting against the body flange and being damaged.
- Align windshield (1) above body opening, in center in relation to A-pillars and lower carefully and slowly.
- Adjust gap dimension (a). Model 212 with code Z04 (Light armoring)
Model 211 with code Z04 (Light armoring) Distance (a) determined before removing windshield (1).
Distance (a) determined before removing windshield (1).
- Center gap dimension between left and right A-pillar (1) (area A).
- Lower windshield (1) onto rubber window spacers and measure transition between windshield (1) and front edge of roof with a straight edge.
The transition must be flush or should not deviate more than 1 mm at top and bottom.
If deviation is greater:
Compensate height differences with window rubber spacers.
- Mark installation position of windshield (1) by gluing on suitable strips of tape (arrows) in area of roof edge and cut through strips of tape (arrows) at top of seal strip.
- Carefully lift windshield (1) off of body flange.
Align windshield (1) above the rubber window spacers while still suspended. If the gross weight of the windshield (1) is placed on the rubber windshield spacers alone, they can tilt when correcting the installation position of the windshield (1), damaging the windshield (1).
