Risk of injuries
The hood can drop suddenly from its final position when opening it and closing it. People in the hood tilting area may suffer injuries. Open and close the hood only when there are no obstacles in the tilting area.
Safety measures/procedures
Before opening the hood:
- Shut down the engine
- Apply the parking brake
- Immobilize the vehicle to prevent unintentional rolling
- In manual gearbox vehicles, set the shifter in neutral position
- In automatic gearbox vehicle, set the selector to "N"
- Always keep the hood lifting area clear
- Take preventative measures to avoid access to unauthorized people in the area.
When opening the hood:
- Always tilt the hood to its final opening position and lock it correctly
- Make sure the space for the tilting of the hood is enough and it is clear of objects and persons
When closing the hood:
- Before closing the hood, make sure no person is at its reach.
- Proceed the closing always from the front part of the hood.
- After the closing of the hood, observe its correct locking.
