Install rear spoiler on trunk lid - AZ88.50-P-0005-02EW

MODEL 212.0 (except 212.074/077/092) except CODE 772 (AMG styling package - front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron) 

IMPORTANT Helper required to assemble rear spoiler (1).

  1. Install rear spoiler (1) on trunk lid, center and mark position with adhesive tape (3).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that the distance to the outside sides is the same on left and right.

  2. Cut adhesive tape (3) with suitable knife in gap between rear spoiler (1) and trunk lid.

    Do not damage paint layer on trunk lid or rear spoiler (1). If no observed, this can lead to corrosion damage or paint damage.

  3. Remove rear spoiler (1) and clean trunk lid in bonding area.

    IMPORTANT The area on the trunk lid to be glued must be free of dust and grease.

  5. Remove protective foils (4) on side adhesive strips from rear spoiler (1).

  7. Slightly remove protective foils (5) from adhesive strips on rear spoiler (1) at ends and bends 45° in direction of outer edge.

    IMPORTANT If necessary, fix bent protective foils (5) in place on outside of rear spoiler (1) with adhesive tape.

  8. Place rear spoiler (1) on trunk lid and align to previously attached adhesive tape (3).
  9. Remove protective foil (5) from one side in increments of 15 to 20 cm and firmly press on rear spoiler (1).

    When pressing on, press directly on adhesive strips on rear spoiler (1). Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

    IMPORTANT Do not remove protective foil (5) all at once. To increase the processing reliability when installing rear spoiler (1), press finally rear spoiler (1) down on trunk lid using a clean cotton rag, starting at once side.

    IMPORTANT The maximum adhesive force is reached after approx. 72 hours at 20 °C. Avoid any contact with moisture (e.g. rain, fog, carwash) within the first 24 hours. Prevent any mechanical stress.

  10. Remove adhesive tape (3).
