Converting front bumper - AZ88.00-P-0001-02EWA

MODEL 212.0/2 as of model year 2014 (Model refinement) 

IMPORTANT Check components removed from standard bumper before assembly and replace if damaged.

NOTES Carefully lay down painted vehicle parts. In order to prevent damage.

  1. Insert upper cover (2) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The upper cover (2) should arrest properly in the upper front bumper paneling (1).

  2. Insert center lower cover (3) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The center lower cover (3) should arrest properly in the upper front bumper paneling (1).

  4. Install 5 insert clip nuts (4) each on left cover (5) and right cover (6).
  5. Insert left cover (5) and right cover (6) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The left cover (5) and right cover (6) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1) on left and right.

  7. Arrest center left front parking system distance sensor (B8/2), left inner front parking system distance sensor (B8/3), right inner front parking system distance sensor (B8/4) and center right front parking system distance sensor (B8/5) into front bumper paneling (1).

    IMPORTANT Previously check whether a decoupling ring (transparent silicon ring) is installed on the parking distance sensors.

    IMPORTANT Use distance sensors with part number A 000 905 93 00.

  9. Arrest left lug (7), center lug (8) and right lug (9) to upper cover (2).

  11. Rivet upper cover (2) from outside and top to front bumper paneling (1) with 4 pressed lug rivets (10) each.

  13. Hook check strap (11) on towing eye cover (12) into front bumper paneling (1).
  14. Insert towing eye cover (12) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The towing eye cover (12) should arrest correctly in the front bumper paneling (1).

  16. On Swiss variant and Japanese variant insert 4 insert clip nuts (13) and on Italian variant insert 2 clip nuts (13) into front bumper paneling (1).

  18. Depending on variant arrest license plate cover into front bumper paneling and screw on.

    IMPORTANT Screw Swiss license plate cover (14) and Japanese license plate cover (15) with 4 PT bolts each and Italy license plate cover (16) with 2 PT bolts (see circles).

    IMPORTANT Screw ECE license plate cover (17) with 4 stainless steel bolts (see circles).

  20. Insert right cover (18) and left cover (19) into front bumper paneling (1) and screw on with 5 bolts (20) each.

    IMPORTANT Tighten bolts (20) in specified sequence (a-b-c-d-e).

  22. Insert chrome-plated trim frame (21) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest starting at center toward inside.

    IMPORTANT The chrome-plated trim frame (21) should arrest properly in front bumper paneling (1).

  24. Arrest surround view camera (22) into upper cover (2).

    IMPORTANT The surround view camera (22) should arrest properly in the upper cover (2).

  26. Install slat (23) on upper cover (2) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The slat (23) should arrest properly in the upper cover (2).

  28. First arrest center chrome trim strip (24), the left chrome trim strip (25) and right chrome trim strip (26) with front bumper paneling (1).

    IMPORTANT The center chrome trim strip (24), left chrome trim strip (25) and right chrome trim strip (26) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1).

  30. Insert basic carrier (27) on right and left into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The right and left basic carrier (27) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1).

  32. Arrest outer left front parking system distance sensor (B8/1) and outer right front parking system distance sensor (B8/6) in basic carrier (27).

    IMPORTANT Previously check whether a decoupling ring (transparent silicon ring) is installed on the parking distance sensors.

    IMPORTANT Use distance sensors with part number A 000 905 12 02.

  34. Insert electrical wiring harness (28) into front bumper paneling (1) and hook into present attachment points (see circles).
  35. Connect left outer front parking system distance sensor (B8/1), left center front parking system distance sensor (B8/2), left inner front parking system distance sensor (B8/3), right inner front parking system distance sensor (B8/4), right center front parking system distance sensor (B8/5) and right outer front parking system distance sensor (B8/6).

  37. Insert left front Distronic bumper radar sensor (B29/2) and right front Distronic bumper radar sensor (B29/3) into basic carrier (27) on right and left and secure with one radar sensor bracket (29) each.

    IMPORTANT The radar sensor brackets (29) should arrest properly in the basic carriers (27) on right and left.

  38. Connect electrical wiring harness (28) to left front Distronic bumper radar sensor (B29/2) and right front Distronic bumper radar sensor (B29/3).

  40. Insert center basic carrier (30) into front paneling (1) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The center basic carrier (30) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1).

  42. Guide electrical wiring harness for surround view camera (31) below center basic carrier (30) and press into groove on center basic carrier (30).
  43. Clip 2 clips on electrical wiring harness for surround view camera (31) into present holes on center basic carrier (30) (see arrows) and connect surround view camera (22).

  45. Arrest temperature sensor (32) in left cover (5).

    IMPORTANT The catch tabs on the temperature sensor (32) should point toward inside (see arrow).

  47. Insert lower basic carrier (33) into front bumper paneling (1) and arrest.

    IMPORTANT The lower basic carrier (33) should arrest properly in the front bumper paneling (1).

  48. Arrest left air ducting (34) and right air ducting (35) in lower center cover (3) and lower basic carrier (33).
  49. Fasten lower center cover (3) to lower basic carrier (33) with 4 expansion rivets (36) each.

  51. Insert sheet metal rail (37) on right and left into basic carrier (27) on right and left and rivet to front bumper paneling (1) and basic carrier (27) on right and left with 1 pressed lug rivet 10) each.

  53. Rivet front bumper paneling (1) to basic carriers (27) on right and left with 1 pressed lug rivet (10) each.

  55. Rivet center basic carrier (30) on right and left to front bumper paneling (1) with 1 pressed lug rivets (10) each.

  57. Install sealing lip (38) in present passages (see arrows) and fold over front bumper paneling (1) to arrest.

    IMPORTANT The sealing lip (38) should arrest properly in the upper front bumper paneling (1).

  59. Insert impact absorber (39) in front bumper paneling (1) and arrest in present catch tabs (see arrows).

    IMPORTANT The impact absorber (39) should arrest properly in front bumper paneling (1).
