Location
On model 212.0 with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system), the rear bass speaker amplifier is located left of center in the trunk under the rear shelf.
On model 212.2 with CODE 811 (Advanced sound system), the rear bass speaker amplifier is located on the underside of the trunk floor.
Tasks
The rear bass speaker amplifier is responsible for the following tasks:
- Receive signals
- Amplifying and supporting signals
- Transmitting signals
Receive signals
The rear bass speaker amplifier receives the following signals:
- Activation signal from the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) via a direct line
- Audio signals from the sound system amplifier control unit via two direct lines
Amplifying and supporting signals
The bass speaker amplifier supports surround sound (Bang&Olufsen) and amplifies the incoming audio signals.
Transmitting signals
The rear bass speaker amplifier uses two direct lines to send audio signals to the following speakers:
- Left rear door speaker (H4/3)
- Right rear door speaker (H4/4)
- Bass speaker (H4/17) (model 212.0) or bass speaker (H4/29) (model 212.2)
- Rear bass speaker (H4/38) (model 212.0)
- Left front door sound system bass speaker (H4/64)
- Right front door sound system bass speaker (H4/65)
The bass speaker amplifier actuates the illumination for the left front door speaker, mirror triangle (H4/23) and the right front door speaker, mirror triangle (H4/24).
