	Risk of death  due to high voltage in xenon headlamps. Risk of explosion  /risk of fire caused by highly flammable materials in the vicinity of damaged xenon bulbs. Risk of injury  caused by UV light, hot components at xenon headlamps and glass splinters produced by bursting xenon bulbs. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhalation of mercury vapors and by toxic salts and mercury compounds being ingested or coming into contact with skin	Do not touch parts conducting high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off the entire lighting system. Wear insulated safety shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Ensure sufficient ventilation in the working area.	AS82.10-Z-0001-01A
	Remove/install
1	Read out operating counter
	Notes on replacing xenon bulbs		AH82.10-P-1010-00A
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		Installation: Set operating counter to zero.
2	Switch off exterior lights	Always switch off exterior lights before changing bulbs. Otherwise, a short circuit may occur.
3	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit
4	Open service flap in left or right front axle fender liner	MODEL 207 Only on xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10).
5	Detach refrigerant line in area of left front lamp unit (E1)	MODEL 212 Only on left xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10). Removal:  Until housing cover (1) is accessible.
6	Detach purging switchover valve in area of left front lamp unit (E1)	MODEL 218 with ENGINE 157, 274, 276, 278 Only on left xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10).
7	Remove housing cover (1)	Only on xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10).
8	Remove housing cover (2)	Only on cornering lights (E1e9, E2e9) or infrared lights (E1e11, E2e11).
9	Remove cornering light socket (3) and remove left cornering light (E1e9) or right cornering light (E2e9) from cornering light socket (3)	MODEL 207, 212 Do not touch the bulb with bare fingers; use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged due to overheating. Removal:  Turn cornering light socket (3) approx. 30° counterclockwise.
10.1	Turn left xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10) or right xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E2e10), then disconnect electrical connector (5) and remove xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10)	MODEL 207, 212 Do not touch the bulb with bare fingers; use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged due to overheating. Carefully pull xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10) out of reflector. Otherwise there is risk of breakage of the bulb. Removal:  Turn xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10) approx. 30° counterclockwise.
10.2	Release fastening spring (6), remove left xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10) or right xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E2e10) from reflector and disconnect electrical connector (5)	MODEL 218 Do not touch the bulb with bare fingers; use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged due to overheating. Carefully pull xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10, E2e10) out of reflector. Otherwise there is risk of breakage of the bulb.
11	Turn left infrared light (E1e11) or right infrared light (E2e11), disconnect electrical connector (4) and remove infrared light (E1e11, E2e11)	MODEL 212 with CODE 610 (Night View Assist) Do not touch the bulb with bare fingers; use a soft cloth free of oil and grease. Otherwise, the bulbs are damaged due to overheating. Removal:  Turn infrared light (E1e11, E2e11) approx. 30° counterclockwise.
12	Install in the reverse order
