Adjusting wiper system - AR82.30-P-6400-01CW

IMPORTANT The windshield wiper system may only be adjusted if the check values of both wiper arms deviate from the tolerance range in parked position.

The following adjustment procedure is shown on model 204.0.

  1. Fit angle gauge (A) from SPECIAL TOOL adjustment tool set to driver-side wiper arm (1).

    IMPORTANT Model 217, 222

    On wiper arms without  Toplock system, the adapter from the SPECIAL TOOL adjustment tool set must be used.

    IMPORTANT Model 204, 207, 212, 218

    On wiper arms with  Toplock system, the separate SPECIAL TOOL adapter must be used.

  2. Open hood.

    IMPORTANT Model 217, 218, 222

    Do not move engine hood to upright position.

  3. Remove cover (2) from insulation mat.

    IMPORTANT Model 204

    The cover (2) is a discontinued part.

  4. Model 212, 217, 218, 222

    Remove sealing frame in area of screw (3), remove cover above screw (3) and lift insulation mat far enough to allow access to the screw (3).

  5. Loosen screw/bolt (3) and attach SPECIAL TOOL extraction hook (4) to windshield wiper system (5).
  6. Move windshield wiper system (5) using SPECIAL TOOL extraction hook (4) until the correct adjustment value appears on the scale of the angle gage (A).
  7. Tighten screw (3) and SPECIAL TOOL remove extraction hook (4).
  8. Close hood and remove angle gage (A) from driver-side wiper arm (1).
