IMPORTANT The setting of the angle of incidence on the driver-side wiper arm and passenger-side wiper arm is always done in the park position and only when the check values differentiate from the tolerance range in the reverse or park position. In doing so, the driver-side wiper arm or front passenger-side wiper arm is distorted by at least the value of the tolerance deviation in reversing position.

SPECIAL TOOL Use adjustment levers (Z4) from SPECIAL TOOL adjustment tool set.

IMPORTANT On wiper arms without  Toplock system, use the SPECIAL TOOL adapter from the SPECIAL TOOL adjustment tool set.

IMPORTANT On wiper arms with  Toplock system (not on MODEL 190, 197), use the separate SPECIAL TOOL adapter.

The following description is shown on wiper arms without Toplock system.

Shown on driver-side wiper arm in park position

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Mount angle gauge (A) with SPECIAL TOOL adapter (B) onto the wiper arm to be adjusted.
  2. Lower wiper arm until all three contact points of the base of the SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A) touch the windshield.
  3. SPECIAL TOOL Place adjustment levers (Z4) as far apart from each other as possible on this wiper arm.

IMPORTANT The wiper arm is twisted with the aid of the SPECIAL TOOL adjustment lever (Z4) that was positioned close to the SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A). The second SPECIAL TOOL adjustment lever (Z4) is used as a counterholder.

  4. SPECIAL TOOL Press adjustment lever (Z4) in the required direction until the wiper arm is at least distorted by the value of the tolerance deviation in reversing position.

  5. SPECIAL TOOL Remove adjustment lever (Z4) from wiper arm.
  6. Read off angle of incidence for adjusted wiper arm on scale of SPECIAL TOOL angle gauge (A), note it down and compare against the test and adjustment values, adjust again if necessary.
