Install rear longitudinal member section - AR64.20-P-1260-03EW

MODEL 212.0/1/2, 218.3 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 212.0 and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Partially install rear longitudinal member (1) and rear locking lug (2), fit with straightening tool and fix in place.

    IMPORTANT Observe setup plans. Use spacers of straightening tool (see set-up plan).

  2. Drill rivet holes on rear longitudinal member section (1) and rear locking lug (2) with Ø 6.7 mm (areas A and B)

    IMPORTANT Model 212.041 Processing is not necessary in area B depending on the version.

  3. Remove rear longitudinal member section (1) and rear end part (2).
  4. Deburr rivet holes on rear longitudinal member section (1) and rear end part (2) on both sides.

    IMPORTANT Model 212.041

    Deburr rear locking lug (2) on both sides.

  5. Remove drilling chips.
  6. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
  7. Apply 2-component adhesive in crosshatched area (area C).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Refer to the manufacturer's information for the curing and working times of 2-component adhesive.

  8. Install rear longitudinal member section (1), fit and fasten using straightening tool.

    IMPORTANT Use spacers of straightening tool (see set-up plan).

  9. Partially rivet rear longitudinal member (1) with Ø 6.5x12.5 blind rivets (area B).

    IMPORTANT Model 212.041

    Processing is not necessary in area B depending on the version.

  10. Rear longitudinal member section (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas D, E and F).

    IMPORTANT Model 212.041

    No work is required in area E and work is required only on parts of area D due to the version.

  11. Install rear locking lug (2), fit and fix in place.
  12. Rear locking lug (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas G and I).
  13. Rivet rear locking lug (2) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area A).
