- Install rear end assembly, taillamps and rubber seal and fit.
- Check and adjust gap dimensions.
- Fix rear end assembly in place.
- Remove taillamps and rubber seal.
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in rear end assembly (areas A, B, C, Q and R).
- Remove rear end assembly.
- Deburr rivet holes on both sides.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of riveted joints.
- Apply 2-component adhesive in hatched area.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
Refer to the manufacturer's information for the curing and working times of 2-component adhesive.
- Install rear end assembly, fit and fix in place.
- Rivet rear end assembly with Polygrip Ø 6.4 14 flat round head rivets (areas F, J and N).
- Rear end assembly
(areas D, E, G, H, I, K, L, M and O).
- Rivet rear end assembly with Polygrip Ø 6.4X14 flat round head rivets (areas ZX and ZY).
- Rear end assembly
(areas X and Y).
- MIG solder rear end assembly
(areas P and Q).
Use SG-CuAL8 solder material in this area due to reasons of strength.
Workshops without MIG solder equipment can also be used in this area. It is absolutely necessary, that there is no remaining solder on the joint.
- Clean welds or solder connections.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
