- Expose spot welds on rear end assembly and cut out (areas A, B, C, D, E and F).
- Expose spot welds on rear end assembly and cut out (areas G, H, K, L, M, N, O and P).
- Drill Ø 6.5 mm spot welds on rear end assembly (areas Q and R).
- Grind open MIG solder connection on rear end assembly (area I and J).
- Heat rear end assembly in crosshatched area.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove damaged rear end assembly.
- Grind mating surfaces on body down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (areas U, V and W).
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint. Can lead to adhesion problems.
