Assemble/disassemble door liner in rear door - AR72.12-P-1040EW

DISASSEMBLING Disassemble     
1 Unclip trim strip (7) from armrest (8) with assembly wedge (4) starting at front When replacing trim strip (7).  
SPECIAL TOOL Figure
2 Unclip left front door exit and warning lamp (E17/5) or right front door exit and warning lamp (E17/6) from door pocket (6) and disconnect electrical connector When replacing left front door exit and warning lamp (E17/5) or right front door exit and warning lamp (E17/6).  
3 Remove door lining (1) and place on suitable subsurface with front side down   AR72.12-P-1010CW 
4 Unclip left rear door sound system tweeter (H4/70) or right rear door sound system tweeter (H4/71) from speaker cover (5) When replacing speaker cover (5), on vehicles with code (810) Sound system.  
5.1 Cut out plastic spot welds (area A) and remove speaker cover (5) from door lining (1). When initially removing speaker cover (5).
NOTES Observe drilling and cutting depth; danger of drilling through.
IMPORTANT Bonded spots in the plastic (area A) which have form while bonding the plastic, must be drilled out with a Ø 4.5 mm bit.
Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out plastic bonding points (area A) at high speed and low forward motion.

5.2 Unscrew bolts (area A), remove washers and speaker cover (5) from door lining (1) When removing speaker cover (5).  
6 Remove mat cover (10) from door lining (1)    
7 Unscrew bolts (23) and unclip roller sun blind (24) from door lining (1) On vehicles with code (297) Roller sun blinds in rear doors  
8.1 Cut out plastic spot welds (area B) and remove door pocket (6) from door lining (1) When initially removing door pocket (6).
NOTES Observe drilling and cutting depth; danger of drilling through.
IMPORTANT Bonded spots in the plastic (area B) which have form while bonding the plastic, must be drilled out with a Ø 4.5 mm bit.
Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out plastic bonding points (area B) at high speed and low forward motion.

8.2 Unscrew bolts (area B), remove washers and door pocket (6) from door lining (1) When replacing door pocket (6).  
9 Disconnect electrical connector (13) from left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4)    
10 Unscrew bolt next to electrical connector (13) and unclip left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4) from armrest (8) When replacing left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4).  
11 Disconnect electrical connector (12) from left rear seat heater button (S51/3) or right rear seat heater button (S51/4) For vehicles with code (872) Electrically heated left and right rear seats  
12 Unclip left rear seat heater button (S51/3) or right rear seat heater button (S51/4) from armrest (8) When replacing left rear seat heater button (S51/3) or right rear seat heater button (S51/4), on vehicles with code (872) Electric seat heater for left and right rear seat.  
13 Unscrew bolts (11, 17) from armrest (8)    
14.1 Cut out plastic spot welds (area C) and remove armrest (8) from door lining (1) When initially removing armrest (8).
NOTES Observe drilling and cutting depth; danger of drilling through.
IMPORTANT Bonded spots in the plastic (area C) which have form while bonding the plastic, must be drilled out with a Ø 4.5 mm bit.
Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out plastic bonding points (area C) at high speed and low forward motion.

14.2 Unscrew bolts (area C 1 , C2 ), remove washers and armrest (8) from door lining (1) When replacing armrest (8).  
15.1 Cut out plastic spot welds (area D) and center field (9) from door lining (1) When initially removing center field (9).
NOTES Observe drilling and cutting depth; danger of drilling through.
IMPORTANT Bonded spots in the plastic (area D) which have form while bonding the plastic, must be drilled out with a Ø 4.5 mm bit.
Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out plastic bonding points (area D) at high speed and low forward motion.

15.2 Unscrew bolts (area D), remove washers and center field (9) from door lining (1) When again removing center field (9).  
16 Disconnect electrical connectors (15), unscrew sheet metal nuts (14) and remove left rear door analog/digital converter (N69/16) or right rear door analog/digital converter (N69/17) For vehicles with code (872) Electrically heated left and right rear seats  
17 Unscrew bolts (16) and remove trim strip (2) from door lining (1)    
18.1 Cut out plastic spot welds (arrows E) on inside door opener (3) When initially removing inside door opener (3).
NOTES Observe drilling and cutting depth; danger of drilling through.
IMPORTANT Bonded spots in the plastic (arrows E) which have form while bonding the plastic, must be drilled out with a Ø 4.5 mm bit.
Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out plastic bonding points (arrows E) at high speed and low forward motion.

18.2 Unscrew bolts (area J) on inside door opener (3) and remove washers from door lining (1) When again removing inside door opener (3).  
19 Disconnect electrical connector (18) from inside door opener (3)    
20 Disconnect electrical connector (20) and remove bar of light (22) from door lining (1) In vehicles with Code (954) Avantgarde or Code (955) Elegance  
21 Unhook electric wiring harness (19) from inside door opener (3)    
22 Remove inside door opener (3) from catch hooks (arrows G, F) and remove door lining (1)    
23 Unclip cover (21) from catch hooks (arrows H) and remove from door lining (1) On vehicles without code (275) Memory package for electrically adjustable front seats  
24 Remove electrical wiring harness (19) from door lining (1)    
ASSEMBLING Assemble     
25 Route electrical wiring harness (19) on door lining (1) and fasten IMPORTANT Ensure that wiring harness (19) is routed correctly.  
26 Clip cover (21) into door lining (1)    
27 Clip inside door opener (3) into door lining (1) IMPORTANT Ensure that inside door opener (3) is seated correctly.  
28 Hook electric wiring harness (19) into inside door opener (3)    
29 Insert bar of light (22) intro door lining (1) and connect electrical connector (20) In vehicles with code (954) Avantgarde or code (955) Elegance  
30 Connect electrical connector (18) to inside door opener (3)    
31 Screw bolts (40) with washers (area J) on inside door opener (3) into door lining (1)    
32 Insert trim strip (2) into door lining (1) and tighten with bolts (16)    
33 Tighten left rear door analog/digital converter (N69/16) or right rear door analog/digital converter (N69/17) on door lining (1) with sheet metal nuts (14) and connect electrical connectors (15) For vehicles with code (872) Electrically heated left and right rear seats
IMPORTANT If a sheet metal nut (14) can no longer be tightened because the mounting pin is damaged, it is possible to press on a new suitable clamping plate as an alternative. It is important the left rear door analog/digital converter (N69/16) or right rear door analog/digital converter (N69/17) is seated in the door lining (1) without play.
 
34 Insert center field (9) flush into door lining (1)    
35 Cut out mounting domes (area D) on center field (9) next to door lining (1) When replacing center field (9).
NOTES Observe cutting depth; danger of drilling through
IMPORTANT Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out mounting domes (area D) at high speed and low forward motion.
Rechargeable drill/screwdriver

36 Tighten center field (9) with bolts (40) and washers (area D)    
37 Insert armrest (8) flush into door lining (1)    
38 Cut out mounting domes (area C) on armrest (8) next to door lining (1) When replacing armrest (8).
NOTES Observe cutting depth; danger of drilling through
IMPORTANT Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out mounting domes (area C) at high speed and low forward motion.

39 Tighten armrest (8) with bolt (41) and washer (area C1 ) and bolt (40) with washer (area C 2 )    
40 Screw bolt (11, 17) into armrest (9)    
41 Clip left rear seat heater button (S51/3) or right rear seat heater button (S51/4) into armrest (8) When replacing left rear seat heater button (S51/3) or right rear seat heater button (S51/4), on vehicles with code (872) Electric seat heater for left and right rear seat.  
42 Connect electrical connector (12) to left rear seat heater button (S51/3) or right rear seat heater button (S51/4) For vehicles with code (872) Electrically heated left and right rear seats  
43 Clip left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4) into armrest (8) and screw bolt in next to electrical connector (13) When replacing left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4).  
44 Connect electrical connector (13) to left rear power window switch (S21/3) or right rear power window switch (S21/4)    
45 Insert door pocket (6) flush into door lining (1)    
46 Cut out mounting domes (area B 1 , B2 ) on door pocket (6) next to door lining (1) When replacing door pocket (6).
NOTES Observe cutting depth; danger of drilling through
IMPORTANT Operate cordless drill with flat facer for cutting out mounting domes (area B 1, B2) at high speed and low forward motion.

47 Tighten door pocket (6) with bolts (41) and washer (area B 1 ) and bolt (40) with washer (area B2 )    
48 Clip roller sun blind (24) into door lining (1) and tighten with bolts (23) On vehicles with code (297) Roller sun blinds in rear doors  
49 Glue new mat cove (10) to door lining (1) IMPORTANT Transfer number and position of bonding points from old door lining (1).  
Special glue *BR00.45-Z-1002-02A 
50 Insert speaker cover (5) into door lining (1)    
51 Cut out mounting domes (area A) on speaker cover (5) level with door lining (1) When replacing speaker cover (5).
NOTES Observe cutting depth; danger of drilling through
IMPORTANT Operate cordless drill with spot facer for cutting out mounting domes (area A) at high speed and low forward motion.

52 Tighten speaker cover (5) with bolts (42) and washers (area A)    
53 Clip left rear door sound system tweeter (H4/70) or right rear door sound system tweeter (H4/71) into speaker cover (1) When replacing speaker cover (5), on vehicles with code (810) Sound system.  
54 Install door lining (1)   AR72.12-P-1010CW 
55 Clip left front door exit and warning lamp (E17/5) or right front door exit and warning lamp (E17/6) into door pocket (6) and connect electrical connector When replacing left front door exit and warning lamp (E17/5) or right front door exit and warning lamp (E17/6).  
56 Clip trim strip (7) into armrest (8) When replacing trim strip (7).
