Disconnect engine wiring harness - AR01.00-P-2410-02EL

  1. Remove air duct (2); unclip tension springs (1) to do this.
  2. Detach ground line (3) from on-board electrical system battery (G1) and place to one side.

    IMPORTANT Insulate connecting point for ground line (3) to avoid unintended contact of detached ground line (3) with the on-board electrical system battery (G1) ground point.

    Only perform operation steps 3 to   22  for removal of the engine. 

  3. Detach cap (4) for positive battery terminal (5) from on-board electrical system battery (G1).
  4. Detach protective cap (6a) from positive line (6).

  5. Detach positive line (6) from positive terminal clamp (7).
  6. Detach positive terminal clamp (7) from positive battery terminal (5) at the on-board electrical system battery (G1).
  7. Detach electrical connection (8) from positive terminal clamp (7).
  8. Detach weatherstrip (9) from suspension strut tower and center section of the bulkhead (78) and remove.
  9. Unclip electrical line (11) from retaining clamp (12).
  10. Unclip electrical line (11) from center section of the bulkhead (78).
  11. Unclip bracket for the electrical line (11) on center section of the bulkhead (78) and lay aside electrical line (11) on the engine.
  12. Detach electrical line (13) from alternator TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
  13. Remove upper engine cover (14).
  14. Detach electrical connection (16a) from cylinder head cover and disconnect from connector (15).
  15. Detach electrical line (16) from bracket (17) for the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
  16. Disconnect electrical connections (10, 18) on ME-SFI control unit (N3/10).
  17. Detach retaining clamp (20) from suspension strut tower and set electrical wiring harness (19) aside.
  18. Disconnect electrical line (22) from intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80).
  19. Disconnect electrical connection (24) on electric transmission oil pump (M42).
  20. Detach ground line (23) from transmission (26). TRANSMISSION 722.9 TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  21. Detach shield (25) from transmission (26) and disconnect electrical connection on electric controller unit. TRANSMISSION 722.9 TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  22. Unclip electrical line (22) on transmission (26) and set aside.

    Only perform operation steps 23 to 30 for removal of cylinder head covers or rails. 

  23. Remove center section of the bulkhead (78).
  24. Disconnect electrical connections on LH intake camshaft solenoid (Y49/4) and on LH exhaust camshaft solenoid (Y49/6) or RH intake camshaft solenoid (Y49/5) and on RH exhaust camshaft solenoid (Y49/7).
  25. Disconnect electrical connections on LH intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/4) and on LH exhaust camshaft Hall sensor (B6/6) or RH intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/5) and on LH exhaust camshaft Hall sensor (B6/7).
  26. Disconnect electrical connections at the ignition coils (T1).

  27. Disconnect electrical connections to fuel injectors (Y76).
    • (28.1)  Disconnect connector on fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B4/25).

      During removal of the left cylinder head cover or left rail. When removing the right cylinder head cover or right rail.

    • (28.2)  Detach ground line (34) from cylinder head cover.
  28. Detach engine wiring harness (41) on the rail.

    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating of the holding clip (33) on the rail.

  29. Lay engine wiring harness (41) aside.
