Separate rear fender - AR63.50-P-1400-02EW

MODEL 212.0 /1 

    1. 1.1)  Scribe separation point on rear fender (1) (area E).

      IMPORTANT Measure dimensions a and b from Y-markings (arrows).

      IMPORTANT Scribe separation point for crimping pliers offset approx. 10 mm from area E.

    2. 1.2)  Scribe separation point on rear fender (1) (area E2).

      IMPORTANT Transfer separation point from new part only if inner C-pillar is also damaged (area E2 ).

      IMPORTANT Scribe separation point for crimping pliers offset approx. 10 mm from area E2

    1. 2.1)  Separate rear fender (1) from separation point (area E).

      IMPORTANT Do not damage C-pillar below.

    2. 2.2)  Separate rear fender (1) from separation point (area E2 ).

      IMPORTANT Only if C-pillar on rear fender (1) is also damaged in area E2

      IMPORTANT Do not damage C-pillar below.

  1. Scribe separation point on rear fender (1) (area D).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation point from new part (area D).

  2. Separate rear fender (1) from separation point (area D).

    IMPORTANT Do not damage side longitudinal member below (area D).

  3. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) (areas A, A1 , B, B1 , B2 and C).
  4. Cut out spot welds on rear fender (1) (areas A, A1 , B, B1 , B2 and C).

  6. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) (areas F, G, H, H1 , I, J, K and L).
  7. Cut out spot welds on rear fender (1) (areas F, G, H, H1 , I, J, K and L).

    IMPORTANT Drill spot weld on rear fender (1) through two pane thicknesses (area K).

  8. Cut rear fender (1) at separation point with FSC 1.6 window removal tool (area M).

    IMPORTANT Rear fender (1) is bonded to outer rear wheel well in area M. Window glazing device, FSC 1.6

  9. Heat rear fender (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

  10. Remove damaged rear fender (1)
  11. Remove remaining adhesive from outer rear wheel well (area M).

    IMPORTANT A maximum of 2 mm of adhesive residue may be left Pull off loose adhesive material (remaining pieces which are not completely cut off).

  12. Repair bare parts with touchup applicator.

  14. Sand connection surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  15. Grind lock striker bracket (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas (area N 1).

    IMPORTANT Remove lock striker bracket (2) only when replacing inner C-pillar

  16. Remove shavings and drill chips.
  17. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  18. Crimp connecting flange on rear fender (1) with crimping pliers toward inside (area E).

    IMPORTANT Use sheet metal crimping pliers for heavily accessible areas.

    Beading pliers

    IMPORTANT Perform following steps 19, 20, 21 only when replacing inner C-pillar.

  19. Cut out lock striker bracket (2) from C-pillar side wall (area N).
  20. Heat lock striker bracket (2) in crosshatched area.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  21. Remove lock striker bracket (2) from inner C-pillar
