Prepare inner C-pillar side wall - AR63.10-P-0700-02EW

MODEL 212.0 /1 

  1. Scribe separation point on inner C-pillar (2) (area J).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation point from vehicle.

  2. Cut inner C-pillar (2) at separation point (area J).
  3. Cut out spot welds and laser seam connection at rear shelf reinforcement (4) (areas H, I and K).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot weld in area K from inside.

  4. Remove rear shelf reinforcement (4).

  5. Grind mating surfaces on inner C-pillar (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  6. Coat insides of spot welding flange on inner C-pillar (2) with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES To prevent adhesion problems, do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area L).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (area L).

  7. Grind mating surfaces on outer C-pillar (1) and reinforcement (3) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  8. Coat insides of spot weld flange on outer C-pillar (1) and reinforcement (3) with zinc dust paint.
