Prepare C-pillar for installation - AR63.20-P-0500-02ES

- Cut out spot welds on inner C-pillar (1) from inside (area C).
- Scribe separating point on inner D-pillar (area A and B).
Transfer dimensions from vehicle, in area A for butt welding and in area B provide for overlap of approx. 20 mm with regard to vehicle cutout.
- Cut inner C-pillar (1) at separating points (area A and B).
- Remove section (2).
- Grind mating surfaces on inner C-pillar (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
To prevent adhesion problems, do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (area O).
- Scribe separating point at outer C-pillar and cut (area P).
Transfer dimensions from vehicle.
- Remove section of outer C-pillar.
- Grind mating surfaces on outer C-pillar down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Coat insides of spot welding flange on outer C-pillar with zinc dust paint.
