Install rear fender - AR63.50-P-1400-04ES

  1. Install rear fender (1), liftgate, rear door, taillamp and rubber seal and fit.
  2. Check and adjust gap dimensions.
  3. Fix rear fender (1) in place.
  4. Remove liftgate, taillamp and rubber seal.
  5. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes (1) on rear fender (area O and Q).
  6. Remove rear fender (1).
  7. Deburr rivet holes on rear fender (1) on both sides.
  8. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  10. Install rubber window spacers from glazing repair kit as spacers on outer rear wheel well at uniform intervals.
  11. Apply 2-component adhesive to outer C-pillar (area R). Only when replacing lock striker bracket.
  12. Apply sealant to outer rear wheel well and foam parts.
  13. Install rear fender (1), fit and fix in place.
  14. Rivet rear fender (1) with Ø 6.4 X 14 Polygrip countersunk-headrivets (area B).
  15. Rear fender (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area C).

  17. Rear fender (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas D, E, F, G, K, L and M).
  18. Rear fender (1) SG «««« (area A2). Not when replacing inner C-pillar.
  19. Rivet rear fender (1) with 6.4 x 14 Polygrip flat/round headrivets (area N).
  20. Rear fender (1) SG «««« (areas H, I and J).

    IMPORTANT Perform inert gas welding in intervals, allow to cool down in between to reduce heat distortion.

  22. Grind inert gas welds down flat.
  23. Clean weld joints on rear fender.
  24. Fill surface on rear fender in area of inert gas welds with body solder and smooth.
  25. Remove grinding and drilling chips with wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
