The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.

Wrap felt tape around low voltage differential signal (LVDS) head unit wiring harness (15).
Wrap felt tape around display low voltage differential signaling wiring harness (16).

Insulate blue 4-pin connector of vehicle wiring harness and strap down.
The blue 4-pin connector of vehicle wiring harness was connected to the Audio/COMAND display.
Insulate gray 4-pin connector of vehicle wiring harness and strap down.
The gray 4-pin connector of vehicle wiring harness was connected to the audio component.
Route LVDS head unit wiring harness (15) from device installation opening of audio component into front passenger footwell.
The gray 4-pin connector (15.1) must be located in the device installation opening for the audio component, and the blue 4-pin connector (15.2) must be in the front passenger footwell.
Route LVDS display wiring harness (16) from display recess into the front passenger footwell.
The blue 4-pin connector (16.1) must be located in the display recess and the white 4-pin connector (16.2) in the front passenger footwell.
