Routing diagram
- Install red line (RD) for power supply in slot 8 of blue 8-pin plug (6).
- Install blue/black line (BU/BK) for wake-up signal in slot 5 of blue 8-pin plug (6).
- Lock retaining clamps (arrows A) at blue 8-pin plug (6).
- Open all cable ducts at right, starting with right front cable duct (13).
- Route red line (RD) for power supply as shown in right front cable duct (13) to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
Use a pull-through device.
- Close all open cable ducts at right.
- Release catch hooks (arrows B) with flat screwdriver and remove violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Route red line (RD) from right wheel arch cable duct (19) through trunk cable duct (20) to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Insert "SPT" contact (21) in contact cavity "5" of violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) and attach violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
The designation of the individual contact cavities is on the violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) (arrow C).
- Reinstall violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) in rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Align rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) with its attachment points.
- Fix red power supply line (RD) in place with cable ties at vehicle wiring harness (18) (arrows D), beginning at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Insert electrical fuse 78 (N10/2f78) with a strength of 7.5 amps in slot "5" of the violet 7- pin fuse carrier (7).
- Fix blue 8-pin plug (6) with red power supply line (rt) in place at side of A-pillar at vehicle wiring harness using cable ties (27).
- Route power supply wiring harness (28) with brown line (BN) as shown from installation location (arrow E) to blue 8-pin plug (6).
Set down brown line (BN) of power supply wiring harness (28) in front passenger footwell.
- Connect blue 8-pin coupling (5) to blue 8-pin plug (6).
The media interface electrical connector 2 (X18/71) is hereby created.
- Rout blue/black line (BU/BK) for wake-up signal from blue 8-pin plug (6) along vehicle wiring harness (3) into installation opening of audio equipment.
- Fix power supply wiring harness (28) and blue/black line (BU/BK) for wake-up signal in place using cable ties at vehicle wiring harness.
Strap down excess length of blue/black line (BU/BK) for wake-up signal.
- Secure brown line (BN) at right footwell ground point (W15/1).
A maximum of 5 ground lines can be attached at the right footwell ground point (W15/1). The right front footwell ground point (W15/7) is to be used as needed.
- Check whether blue/black line (BU/BK) for wake-up signal is assigned in contact cavity "16" (arrow F) in black 44-pin connector (8).
-
- 21.1)
If 44-pin connector (8) in contact cavity "16" (arrow F) is assigned. Connect blue/black line (BU/BK) for wake-up signal to a potential distributor (26) at blue/black wake-up signal line (29) of vehicle wiring harness.
44-pin connector (8) is assigned in contact cavity "16" (arrow F). 44-pin connector (8) is not assigned in contact cavity "16" (arrow F).
The potential distributor (26) can be found in the
wiring harness repair kit.
- 21.1)
If 44-pin connector (8) in contact cavity "16" (arrow F) is assigned. Connect blue/black line (BU/BK) for wake-up signal to a potential distributor (26) at blue/black wake-up signal line (29) of vehicle wiring harness.
- 21.2)
If 44-pin connector (8) in contact cavity "16" (arrow F) is not assigned. Attach SLK contact spring (30) at blue/black line (BU/BK) and install in contact cavity 16 (arrow F) of black 44-pin connector (8).
SLK contact spring (30) is available in
supplementary wiring harness repair kit for passenger cars.
