The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.

Wrap felt tape around global positioning system antenna line (GPS) (18).
Stick Velcro strip (19) onto upper side of GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23).
The GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23) has been installed correctly in the vehicle when the line out points forward and is facing the passenger side.
Stick felt tape to GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23).

Remove protective foil from Velcro strip of GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23).
Stick GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23) to bar (20) in device installation opening of Audio/COMAND display.
Care should be taken to ensure that there is no screening effect through metal above the GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23).
Also fix GPS antenna (retrofit) (A2/23) in place using a cable tie (21).
Route GPS antenna line (18) through cable duct of low voltage differential signal (LVDS) display wiring harness into audio component slot.
Route GPS antenna line (18) further into front passenger footwell to Drive Kit Plus adapter wiring harness (3).
Do not crush or jam the GPS antenna line (18). Otherwise, a trouble-free GPS signal is not guaranteed.
