MODEL 212 up to model year 2014 

Operating instructions 

Via the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) various menu levels can be shown in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1):

IMPORTANT All the buttons of the multifunction steering wheel button group are always installed. However the available functions depend on the equipment of the vehicle.

Overview of available menus (equipment-dependent):

"Trip" menu 

The following functions can be selected in the "Trip" menu:

"Navi" menu 

Navigation notes are displayed in the "Navi" menu when the function is switched on.

When the function is switched off, the direction of travel is indicated using the cardinal points of the compass, e.g. "Direction of travel NW".

"Audio" menu 

The following functions can be selected in the "Audio" menu:

"Tel" menu 

The name of the selected mobile telephone network is shown in the telephone menu when the function is switched on. It is still possible then to scroll through the stored telephone book and select an entry. When the function is switched off the text "Telephone Off" is displayed.

IMPORTANT If a telephone is not detected when the function is switched on, the message "Ready for Bluetooth telephony" appears.

"Assist." menu 

The following functions can be selected in the "Assist." menu, depending on the equipment installed:

"Service" menu 

The following functions can be selected in the service menu:

"Settings" menu 

Changes to the following settings can be made in the "Settings" menu:

with CODE 621 (Intelligent Light System (left-hand traffic))

The menu item "Tourist function" has been added in the "Light" submenu of the "Settings" menu. Here low beams can be adapted for left and right hand traffic.

IMPORTANT MODEL 212 as of 6/1/10

The menu item "Acoustic locking-verification signal" has been added in the "Vehicle" submenu of the "Settings" menu. The "acoustic locking feedback" can be switched on or off here.

IMPORTANT MODEL 212 as of 6/1/11

The menu item "Belt adjustment" has been added in the "Comfort" submenu of the "Settings" menu. The "belt adjustment" can be switched on or off here.

"AMG" menu (with transmission 722.930/931) 

Various system information is displayed in the "AMG" menu. The following submenus can be called up:

Submenus are shown in two display menus. The following information is shown in the upper static display level:

IMPORTANT An active "UP" upshift indicator is shown in red. If the "AMG" submenu is not activated, an active upshift indicator overlays all information displayed.

The specific information of the individual submenus is shown in the lower dynamic display level.

"Warm Up" submenu 

The following information can be displayed in the "Warm up" menu:

"Setup" submenu 

The following information can be displayed in the "Setup" menu:

IMPORTANT The "ESP ON" display is hidden after t = 5 s. The "ESP SPORT" display (up to 31.05.2010) or "Sport Handling Mode" display (as of 01.06.2010) or "ESP OFF" display must be acknowledged using the OK button.

IMPORTANT The "Set Up" submenu can also be called up by pressing the AMG button (S193/3).

"Racetimer" submenu 

Lap times driven as under racing conditions can be stopped in the "Race Timer" submenu.

The operating instructions for the "RACE START" function are issued via the multifunction display.

The function requirements for the "RACE START" function are:

The "RACE START" function is activated as follows:

In the multifunction display the text message "RACE START available - press accelerator pedal" appears. If now the accelerator pedal is pressed, the text message "RACE START - release brake to start" appears. After releasing the brake the text message "RACE START active" appears and the function is carried out.

IMPORTANT The function is terminated by pressing the steering wheel downshift button (S110/1). In the multifunction display the text message "RACE START" terminated appears".
