Retrofit the backup camera wiring harness - AN54.65-P-0030-03EW

NOTES Ensure that the wiring harnesses are not damaged by chafing or pinching. Otherwise the corresponding wiring harness must be replaced.

  1. Route electrical line of reversing camera (B84/3) through specified opening into interior of trunk lid and clip reversing camera (B84/3) into place.
  2. Detach protective foil (4) from reversing camera (B84/3).

  3. Connect black, 4-pin connector and white, 6-pin connector to reversing camera power supply module (N66/10).
  4. Install cable duct (6).

    On vehicles with no cable duct (6).

  5. Route electrical line (2) of reversing camera and brown line (BN) through cable duct (6) to left side of trunk.
  6. Route gray/blue line (GY/BU) and red/yellow line (RD/YE) along existing wiring harnesses of reversing camera power supply module (N66/10) to right side of the trunk and fix in place using cable ties.

  7. Route electrical line (2) from cable duct (6) to reversing camera, clip retaining clip connected to electrical line (2) into corresponding holes and fit clamps (5), as shown, onto trunk lid.

    NOTES Route electrical line (2) between trunk lid hinge and left rear wheel well with sufficient clearance. Otherwise, the unobstructed movement of the trunk lid hinge may be impaired or the electrical line (2) may be sheared off.

  8. Connect electrical connection for reversing camera (B84/3x1) using black, 4-pin connector of electrical line (2) and black, 4-pin connector of reversing camera.

  9. Apply preservation agent to clamp (5) contact points.
  10. Connect brown line (BN) to ground point, left rear wheel arch (W6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
  11. Route gray/blue line (GY/YE) along existing wiring harnesses to right backup lamp and fix in place using cable ties.

    NOTES Route gray/blue line (GY/BU) between trunk lid hinge and right rear wheel well with sufficient clearance.

    Otherwise, the unobstructed movement of the trunk lid hinge may be impaired or the gray/blue (GY/BU) line may be sheared off.

  12. Route red/yellow line (RD/YE) along existing wiring harnesses to green fuse holder (7) of rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fix in place with cable ties.

  13. Connect gray/blue (GY/BU) of reversing camera wiring harness to the blue/green line (BU/GN) of right backup lamp (E4/1e3) using potential distributor (8) and wrap felt tape around potential distributor (8).

    IMPORTANT The potential distributor (8) is available in the SPECIAL TOOL Basic wiring harness repair kit or the SPECIAL TOOL Supplement wiring harness repair kit for passenger cars.

  14. Detach green fuse holder (7) from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
  15. Mount red/yellow line (RD/YE) into contact cavity 4 of green fuse holder (7).
  16. Insert 5 A fuse (10) into green fuse holder (7).
  17. Plug green fuse holder (7) onto rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

  18. Route electrical line (3) from power supply module for reversing camera (N66/10) into existing cable ducts along given wiring harnesses to the COMAND controller unit and fix in place with cable ties.

  19. Model 212.0 except code 518 (Media Interface) and except code 610 (Night View Assist) Install electrical line (3) into the green, 2-pin connector (9) included in the scope of supply, and plug green, 2- pin connector (9) onto green slot of COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
  20. Model 212.0 with code 518 (Media Interface), model 212.0 with code 610 (Night View Assist) Remove green, 2-pin connector (9) from COMAND controller unit (A40/3), install electrical line (3) into free slot of green, 2-pin connector (9) and plug green, 2-pin connector (9) onto green slot of COMAND controller unit (A40/3).

  21. Model 212.0 with code 518 (Media Interface) and with code 610 (Night View Assist) Detach green, 2-pin connector (9) from COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
  22. Model 212.0 with code 518 (Media Interface) and with code 610 (Night View Assist) Remove media interface connector from contact cavity 1 of given green, 2-pin connector (9), wrap with felt tape and strap down onto the vehicle wiring harness.
  23. Model 212.0 with code 518 (Media Interface) and with code 610 (Night View Assist) Install electrical line (3) into free slot of existing green, 2-pin connector (9) and plug green, 2-pin connector (9) onto green slot of COMAND controller unit (A40/3).

    IMPORTANT The media interface video feature is no longer available.
