Routing diagram
Ensure that the wiring harnesses are not damaged by chafing or pinching. Otherwise the corresponding wiring harness must be replaced.
- Route electrical line of reversing camera (B84/3) through specified opening into interior of liftgate and clip reversing camera (B84/3) into place.
- Detach protective foil from reversing camera (B84/3).
- Detach cable duct (4) in area of liftgate.
- Route reversing camera wiring harness (2), along given wiring harnesses, from the liftgate wiper motor through the cable duct and the breakthrough in the roof frame and fix in place.
- Route gray/blue line (gr/bl) to left backup lamp.
- Make electrical connector for reversing camera (B84/3x1).
To do so, connect black, 4-pin coupling of reversing camera wiring harness to black, 4-pin plug connector of reversing camera.
- Wrap felt tape around electrical connector for reversing camera (B84/3x1).
- Use cable ties to fasten electrical connector for reversing camera (B84/3x1) into place.
- Connect gray/blue line (GY/BU) of left backup lamp and gray/blue line (GY/BU) of reversing camera wiring harness to a potential distributor (3).
The potential distributor (3) is available in the
wiring harness repair kit.
- Wrap felt tape round potential distributor (3).
- Fasten gray/blue line (gr/bl) of left backup lamp together with gray/blue line (gr/bl) of reversing camera wiring harness in place using cable ties.
- Route reversing camera wiring harness (2) from breakthrough in roof frame to D-pillar along given wiring harnesses and fix in place using cable ties.
- Route wiring harness for reversing camera (2) along existing wiring harnesses from D-pillar to rear-end floor and fasten in place using cable ties.
- Connect black 4-pin coupling for reversing camera wiring harness (2) on the power supply module wiring harness (N66/10).
- Connect white, 6-pin coupling for reversing camera wiring harness (1) to power supply module wiring harness (N66/10).
- Route wiring harness (1) along existing wiring harnesses to C-pillar and fix in place.
- Connect brown line (BN) to ground point, left rear wheel arch (W6).
.
- Route red/blue line (RD/BU) along given wiring harnesses to C-pillar on right and fasten in place.
- Route red/blue line (RD/BU) from right C-pillar along existing wiring harnesses to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N102) and fix in place with cable ties.

Only perform operation steps 19 to 23, if the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) is populated with a green fuse holder (5).
- Remove green fuse holder (5) from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Connect red/blue line (RD/BU) and connect vehicle's line for green fuse holder (5) in contact cavity 3 to a potential distributor (6).
Only perform operation step when contact cavity 3 of the fuse holder (5) is occupied.
The potential distributor (6) is available in the
wiring harness repair kit.
- Open lock on green fuse holder (5).
Only perform operation step when contact cavity 3 of green fuse holder (5) is not occupied.
- Fit a suitable STP contact to the red/blue line (RD/BU).
Only perform operation step when contact cavity 3 of green fuse holder (5) is not occupied.
The "STP" contact is available in the
wiring harness repair kit.
- Install red/blue line (RD/BU) into contact cavity 3 of green fuse holder (5).
Only perform operation step when contact cavity 3 of the fuse holder (5) is not occupied.
- Install red/blue line (RD/BU) into contact cavity 3 of green fuse holder (5) included in package contents.
Only perform operation step, when the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) is not populated with a green fuse holder (5).
- Insert a fuse with 7.5 A fuse rating into contact cavity 3 of the green fuse holder (5).
- Fit green fuse holder (5) into slot with green markings on rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Route wiring harness (1) from C-pillar into given line ducts along given wiring harnesses to COMAND controller unit and fix in place using cable ties.
- Model 212.2 except code 518 (Media Interface) except code 610 (Night View Assist) Install wiring harness (1) into green, 2-pin connector (7) included in scope of supply, and plug green, 2-pin connector (7) onto green slot of COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
- Model 212.2 with code 518 (Media Interface), model 212.2 with code 610 (Night View Assist) Remove green, 2-pin connector (7) from COMAND controller unit (A40/3), install wiring harness (1) into free slot of green, 2-pin connector (7) and plug green, 2-pin connector (7) onto green slot of COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
