Retrofit Night View Assist wiring harness - AN54.30-P-0001-02EW

  1. Unscrew bolts (13) from carrier (14) of inside rearview mirror (A67) and remove carrier (14).

  2. Wrap insulation tape (14) around Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and LVDS line (2) over a length of approx. 500 mm starting at Night View Assist control unit (N101).
  3. Fix Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and LVDS line (2) in place at A-pillar at bottom of vehicle wiring harness using cable tie (arrows A).

  4. Wrap felt tape (15) around LVDS line (2) 180 mm downstream of silver 10-pin female connector (1) along a length of 1500 mm.

  5. Route LVDS line (2), as shown, from installation location of Night View Assist camera behind headliner (16) to top of A-pillar.

    IMPORTANT The silver 10-pin female connector (1) of the LVDS line (2) must hang out of the headliner (16) at the inside rearview mirror by approx. 180 mm.

  6. Position LVDS line (2) in cutout (arrow B) of headliner (16).

  7. Route LVDS line (2) from headliner (16) along vehicle wiring harness at top of A-pillar and fix in place using cable ties (arrows C).

    IMPORTANT Route the LVDS line (2) in such a way that the distance to the windowbag (17) is as great as possible.

  8. Mask off sharp-edged sides (arrows D) of reinforcement (18) using felt tape and route LVDS line (2), as shown, between A-pillar and reinforcement (18).

  9. Position carrier (14) of inside rearview mirror (A67) and screw down securely using bolts (13).

  10. Lay LVDS line (2), as shown, in loops and fix in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable tie (19).
  11. Install red/black line of Night View Assist wiring harness (4) in contact cavity "6" of blue 8-pin plug (10) contained in package contents.
  12. Lock retaining clip (arrows E) at blue 8-pin plug (10).

  13. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4), as shown, along vehicle wiring harness to air conditioner housing (21) and fix in place using cable ties.
  14. Connect blue 8-pin female connector (11) of red/black line (RD/BK) to blue 8-pin plug (10) of Night View Assist wiring harness (4).
  15. Fix electrical connection made with blue 8-pin female connector (11) and blue 8-pin plug (10) in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable tie.

  16. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4) with green line, green/white line and black video signal line (7) as well as red/black line (RD/BK) above air duct (20) along vehicle wiring harness and into installation opening of COMAND controller unit.
  17. Route green 2-pin female connector (8) of video signal line (7) approx. 200 mm out of installation opening of COMAND operating unit.

  18. Fix Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (RD/BK) in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable tie.
  19. Lay extended length of video signal line (7) in loops and fix in place using cable tie (arrow F).
  20. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (RD/BK) along vehicle wiring harness to Bowden cable (24) of foot-operated parking brake.
  21. Fix Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (RD/BK) in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable tie (arrows G).
  22. Fix Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (RD/BK) to insulation mat (22) using felt tape (23).

  23. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (RD/BK) along Bowden cable (24) of foot-operated parking brake and fix in place using cable ties (25).
  24. Open left front cable duct (26).

  25. Route white 2-pin female connector (9) of Night View Assist wiring harness (4) into left front cable duct (26).
  26. Connect white 2-pin female connector (9) of Night View Assist wiring harness (4) to vehicle floor chassis CAN potential distributor electrical connector (X30/30).
  27. Fix Night View Assist wiring harness (4) in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable tie (27).

  28. Lay Night View Assist wiring harness (4) in left front cable duct (26) in loops and fix in place.
  29. Close left front cable duct (26).
  30. Route red/black line (RD/BK) from Bowden cable (24) of foot-operated parking brake along vehicle wiring harness to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
  31. Fix red/black line (RD/BK) in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable ties (28).

  32. Detach pink female connector (5C) from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
  33. Insert plug contact (12) of red/black line (RD/BK) into contact cavity "11" (arrow H) of pink female connector (5C).
  34. Connect pink female connector (5C) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
  35. Install 7.5 A fuse in slot 36 of front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
