The electric seats function description comprises the following subfunctions, which are described in separate Specifications:

• Electrical seat adjustment (ESA), function (without code (275) Memory package for electrically adjustable front seats) 
• Electrical seat adjustment (ESA), function (with code (275) Memory package for electrically adjustable front seats) 
• Lumbar support adjustment, function (without code (409) Left/right front multicontour seats and without code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat) 
• Multicontour seat (MKS), function (with code (409) Left/right front multicontour seats) 
• Dynamic multicontour seat, function (with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat) 
• Retractable rear head restraints (RHR [KAF]), function (on model 212.0/1) 
• Electrically adjustable steering column (ESC [EVL]), function (with code (275) Memory package for electrically adjustable front seats) 

Electrical seat adjustment (ESA), function (without code (275) Memory package for electrically adjustable front seats) 

The following electrical driver and front passenger seat settings can be made with the ESA:

• Seat height
• Backrest angle
• Seat inclination

Electrical seat adjustment (ESA), function (with code (275) Memory package for electrically adjustable front seats) 

The following electrical driver and front passenger seat settings can be made with the ESA:

• Seat fore/aft position
• Seat height
• Seat inclination
• Backrest angle
• Head restraint height

The respective settings can also be saved and retrieved.

Lumbar support adjustment, function (without code (409) Left/right front multicontour seats and without code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat) 

One lumbar support unit each is integrated in the driver and front passenger seat backrest. The lumbar support unit can be used to individually adjust the backrest curvature to support the vertebral column.

Multicontour seat (MKS), function (with code (409) Left/right front multicontour seats) 

The contour and surface hardness of the backrest and seat cushion for the driver or front passenger seat can be individually adjusted.

Dynamic multicontour seat, function (with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat) 

On vehicles with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat, the following functions are also possible:

• Dynamic function:

  The dynamic function enhances the lateral support when cornering. To do so, the lateral support has been improved by means of an automatic pressure increase in each outer curve lateral support air cushion. Intensity can be adjusted in two stages.

• Massage function:

  In order to prevent back tension during long journeys, the dynamic multicontour seat is also equipped with a massage function.

Retractable rear head restraints (RHR [KAF]), function (on model 212.0/1) 

By lowering the rear head restraints, the driver can create an unimpeded view through the rear window when required.

Electrically adjustable steering column (ESC [EVL]), function (with code (275) Memory package for electrically adjustable front seats) 

The electrically adjustable steering column function enables various steering column positions to be adjusted and stored. The easy entry/exit function allows the driver to get in and out of the vehicle easily. In the process the steering column is moved upwards before getting in or out.
