Component description for Weight Sensing System (WSS) control unit - GF91.60-P-4069FLU
MODEL 212 with CODE U10 (Front passenger seat with weight sensor)
Location
The WSS control unit is located in the seat frame of the front passenger seat.
Task
The WSS control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals
Reading in of sensors
The input factors are read in via the following connection:
- Direct line
Direct line
The signals from the following sensors are read in via a direct line:
- Belt tension sensor (B48/3)
- Seat occupancy recognition pressure sensor (B48/4) (up to 28.2.13)
Evaluation of input factors
The WSS control unit determines the weight (person or child seat) on the front passenger seat. Up to 28.2.13, this is determined via a pressure measurement by the seat occupancy recognition pressure sensor in a gel mat filled with silicone. As of 1.3.13, the pressure sensor is integrated in the WSS control unit. The tractive force on the belt is recorded by the belt tension sensor. The WSS control unit calculates the corresponding weight class from the pressure and the belt tension.
Output of signals
The signals are output via the following connection:
- Interior CAN (CAN B) (up to 28.2.13)
- Seat occupancy LIN (LIN E2) (as of 1.3.13)
Interior CAN (up to 28.2.13)
The information is sent via interior CAN, the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and chassis CAN (CAN E) to the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10).
Seat occupancy LIN (as of 1.3.13)
The information is sent to the supplemental restraint system via the seat occupancy LIN.
