Disposing of shock absorber - OS32.25-P-0121-01GH

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by drilling gas-filled assemblies or components (noncombustible gases) Wear safety glasses and a face mask. AS00.00-Z-0006-01A
  1. 1 Remove protective tube, stop damper and rubber mount in the housing eye of the shock absorber.
  2. 2 Drill a hole in the shock absorber tube approx. 55 mm (dimension a) away from the top edge of the tube using a 5 mm dia. drill bit (gas escapes).

    IMPORTANT Shock absorber design as a twin tube damper: Bore outer and inner tube.

  3. 4 Pump the shock absorber empty by pushing in the piston rod several times.

    IMPORTANT Collect and dispose of hydraulic fluid which runs out. Observe regulations for the disposal of hydraulic fluid.

  4. 5 Dispose of shock absorber (scrap).

    IMPORTANT Observe regulations for the disposal of shock absorber (old parts).
