Use of unleaded fuels (premium and regular) - AH07.00-P-1000-01A

Vehicles with CATs may only be operated with unleaded fuel, as otherwise the lead released during combustion of the fuel will act as catalyst poison.

Minimum antiknock rating 

Premium gasoline DIN 51607-S-unleaded 95 RON/85 MON

Regular gasoline DIN 51607-S-unleaded 91 RON/82.5 MON

The engines are designed for unleaded premium quality with at least 95 RON/85 MON. For continuous operation with unleaded regular fuel, the ignition timing has to be set by a corresponding correction of the electronic ignition adjustment plug to injection retarded, to guarantee non knocking operation.

When adjusting the ignition to injection retarded, minor consumption and output impairments occur.
