Purpose:

Leaktightness tester for leak test using flue gas and testing fluid.

NOTE: For leak test of the intake air system (from air filter to intake valve).

For leak test of the vacuum system (from the vacuum pump up to the individual actuators) for leak test of exhaust system (from exhaust pipe up to exhaust manifold)

This criteria catalog serves to provide support for selection of variants of workshop equipment available on the free market. It just describes the minimum requirement for fulfilling the Mercedes-Benz standard. There is therefore no reference made to manufacturer specific equipment or devices.

Minimum requirements:

Flue gas diagnostic unit for recording and processing on UltraTraceUV® test fluid (A 000 989 47 00 TEST FLUID).
The flue gas diagnostic unit processes the test fluid for smoke generation for evaporation basis.
IMPORTANT: The test fluid must not burnt!
The through-flow measuring instrument with the millimeter scale (flow meter) for displaying the leak size in the system to be checked.
Display for system pressure or a system pressure drop of +70 to -70 (measurement unit mbar) or +30 to -30 (measurement unit in H2O) is present.
Flow Control for continuous adjustment of the quantity of smoke is present.
Color recommendation in RAL 7015, 7011 or 7012 (dark grey tones).
