Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove transmitter key and mains plug    
2 Remove rear CBS AR88.20-P-1900MCC  
3 Connect diagnostic system and disable high-voltage on-board electrical system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT Print the power disable event log and add to the vehicle file.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Put the high-voltage on-board electrical system into operation.

4 Attach warning label (15) directly over vehicle socket flap SPECIAL TOOL Warning label Figure
5 Remove interior flap above engine   AR88.40-P-1100-03MCC
6 Unscrew screw/bolt (2) on onboard charger 3kW (N83) and remove potential equalization lines (3) NOTES
Ensure that the contact surfaces are absolutely clean.
Contact problems can otherwise occur and cause damage to the high-voltage on-board electrical system.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, ground line to on-board charger

7.1 Cut cable ties (5) at electrical line (6) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993
without CODE 908 (Bordlader 22kW)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace cable tie (5).
 
7.2 Separate cable tie (8) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993
with CODE 908 (Bordlader 22kW)
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace cable tie (8).
 
8.1 Release and disconnect electrical connector (4) on onboard charger 3kW (N83) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993

8.2 Release and disconnect electrical connector (7) on onboard charger 22kW (N83/10) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993
with CODE 908 (Bordlader 22kW)
 
9.1 Release and disconnect high-voltage connector (1) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993
without CODE 908 (Bordlader 22kW)
 
9.2 Release and disconnect high-voltage connector (3-pin) (9) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993
with CODE 908 (Bordlader 22kW)
 
10 Pull protective covers over high-voltage connector (1) or 3-pin high-voltage connector (9) on line side and component side NOTES
Protect the high-voltage connector (1) or 3-pin high-voltage connector (9) against dirt and moisture.
Otherwise, consequential damage may occur on the on-board high voltage electrical system.

12 Remove charger feed socket (X58/23) IMPORTANT Make sure that the lines of the charger feed socket (X58/23) are routed correctly.  
13 Release and disconnect electrical connector (13) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993

When replacing the charger feed socket (X58/23).
 
14 Unscrew screws/bolts (14) and remove charge socket flap central locking motor (M14/11) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993
without CODE 494 (US version)
When replacing the charger feed socket (X58/23).
 
15 Unscrew screws/bolts (11) and remove charger feed socket (X58/23) from bracket (12) MODEL 451.390/392/490/492 with ENGINE 780.993
without CODE 494 (US version)
When replacing the charger feed socket (X58/23).
 
16 Install in the reverse order    
17 Perform protective earth conductor and insulation resistance test MODEL 451.390/490 with ENGINE 780.993 AR54.10-P-0019-01MEV
18 Connect diagnostic system and clear fault memory    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04MCC
