Purpose:

Charger for charging and recharging starter batteries without disconnection from the on-board electrical system.

NOTE: A distinction is made between 3 power categories depending on the use case:

For maintenance charging < 16 A
For quick charging, backup function <= 30 A
For flash/buffer operation > 80 A

Minimum requirements:

Short circuit resistance
Protection against polarity reversal
Voltage-free connection
Automatic fault detection (loss of contact)
Charge indicator
Charging of wet, AGM (VRLA), gel, lithium-ion batteries
