| 1 | Open soft top sufficiently far that retaining strips (2, 3, 5) of headliner (1) can be removed from roof edge and roof cassette without tension | ||
| 2 | Loosen retaining strips (2) on left and right of roof edge and pull out of roof edge gap | Fig 4 | |
| 3 | Loosen retaining strip (3) on front left and right of roof edge | Fig 4 | |
| 4 | Pull retaining strip (3) out of roof edge gap from the outside towards the center | ||
| 5 | Unscrew bolts (8) on left and right at rear of headliner (1) | Model 453.4 | |
| 6 | Loosen retaining strip (5) on left and right of roof cassette | Fig 4 | |
| 7 | Pull retaining strip (5) out of roof cassette gap from the outside towards the center | ||
| 8 | Close soft top | ||
| 9 | Loosen mounting strips (6) on left and right, then pull headliner (1) out of gap of soft top bow (7), from the outside towards the center | ||
| 10 | Remove remaining retaining clips (4) from roof edge gap and roof cassette gap | ||
| Install | |||
| 11 | Fit retaining clips (4) to retaining strips (2, 3, 5) slightly offset from their previous position | ||
| 12 | Open soft top sufficiently far that retaining strip (5) of headliner (1) can be installed on roof cassette | ||
| 13 | Insert retaining strip (5) of headliner (1) in center of roof cassette gap, and press in to left and right starting from the center, applying uniform pressure | ||
| 14 | Screw bolts (8) on left and right into rear of headliner (1) | Model 453.4 | |
| 15 | Close soft top | ||
| 16 | Position mounting strips (6) in center of soft top bows (7), starting at the rear, and press in to left and right starting from the center, applying uniform pressure | Counterhold soft top from outside. Prevent formation of creases. |

| 17 | Insert retaining strip (3) in center of roof cassette gap, and press in to left and right starting from the center, applying uniform pressure | ||
| 18 | Insert retaining strips (2) in roof edge gap and press in with uniform pressure | ||
| Check | |||
| 19 | Check headliner (1) for wrinkles | If complaint present ↓ Center mounting strips (6) |

| 20 | Open soft top and check headliner (1) for tension | If complaint present ↓ Center mounting strips (6) |

| 21 | Close soft top and check soft top seal for chafing points with headliner (1) | If complaint present ↓ Center mounting strips (6) |
