1	Connect charger to battery	Use the charger to ensure that an adequate power supply (min. 12.5 V) is provided for the on-board electrical system battery.

2	Disconnect all external data carriers from smart Premium radio
3	Switch on smart Premium radio
4	Check software release of smart Premium radio	Selection through: Extras Options System settings Product information
5	Fold up display of smart Premium radio and insert secure digital (SD) card, then close display again	The current software release for the SD card has to be assured, check beforehand if necessary.
6	Read out SD card data	To do so press "OFF" button for 10 to 12 seconds, until the illumination for the smart Premium radio and the button illumination have gone out. Then switch on the smart Premium radio again.
7	Run update procedure	Confirm with "OK". The software update runs automatically and takes up to 50 minutes. The display opens during the software update and closes again after the software update has been completed.
8	Calibrate display	By pressing the five subsequent crosses on the screen.
9	Open display of smart Premium radio and remove SD card, then close display again

12	Operate smart Premium radio	Restore language settings, personal settings, Bluetooth connections, etc.
