Pretreatment of bonding surfaces 

Careful preparation of the surfaces to be glued is required to ensure proper connection between the glue and the surface of the parts to be connected.

For this purpose, first carefully clean all dirt, rust and oxide layers, if present paint residues etc. from the surfaces to be glued by brushing, grinding, etc.

Moreover, thorough degreasing of the surfaces with carbon tetrachloride or trichlorethylene is important.

Alcohol, gasoline or paint thinner are not suitable for this purpose. Never use any cleaner except the cleaner recommended by the glue manufacturer for the glue in question.

Clean surfaces to be glued immediately before applying glue.

Preliminary treatment of surfaces to be glued consisting of fiber composites and their components 

The surfaces to be glued must be dry and free of dust.

Roughen up surfaces to be glued with abrasive mat (available commercially), then clean large area with cleaner.

Apply bonding agent for specific glue with applicators.

Only use products recommended by manufacturer!

Observe flash-off time from manufacturer.

Always perform preliminary treatment immediately before applying glue.
