Retrofit communications module control unit antenna - AZ82.62-P-0020MCC

Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove transmitter key and unplug battery charger from power supply    
2 Remove paneling on right A-pillar * not for USA
 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Remove/install paneling on A-pillar

INSTALLING Install     
3 Route communications module antenna line (2) between A-pillar and instrument panel into front passenger footwell    
4 Connect communications module antenna line (2) to electric vehicle communications module control unit (N112/2)    
5 Fasten communications module antenna line (2) in front passenger footwell to existing lines using cable ties    
6 Route communications module antenna line (2) along A-pillar and roof paneling to attachment point of communications module antenna (1) (hatched area) and fix in place using strips of felt tape NOTES
The communications module antenna line (2) must be routed and fixed in place as shown (broken line).
Otherwise it may cause damage or malfunction.
 
7 Clean bonding surface of communications module antenna (1) (hatched area) IMPORTANT The bonding surface of the communications module antenna (1) (hatched area) must be free of dust and grease.  
8 Remove carrier foil from communications module antenna (1) and stick communications module antenna (1), as shown, in hatched area IMPORTANT Dimension: a = 15 mm
The dimension (a) is measured from the communications module antenna (1) to the outer edge of the blackened area on the windshield.
 
9 Form loops of extended length of communications module antenna line (2) and fasten to roof paneling using felt tape    
INSTALLING Install     
10 Install trim at right A-pillar * not for USA
 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Remove/install paneling on A-pillar

11 Connect diagnostic system and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04MCC
12 Adapt coding using diagnostic system in menu for electric vehicle communications module control unit (N112/2) IMPORTANT In the "Antenna" menu item, the coding has to be changed from "Internal" to "External".  
13 Disconnect diagnostic system
