NOTES With front-end repairs, the mounting of the inspection and welding gauge is only permissible using the vehicle's lift support points if it has been ensured that the longitudinal members and crossmembers are in the correct design position. Even with minor deformations of the longitudinal member or the crossmember, the inspection and welding gauge is to be mounted to a straightening tool set on the straightening bench.

Only by conducting this procedure can it be guaranteed that all dimensions of the wheel arch panel, radiator support and headlamp reinforcements are within the permissible tolerance range.
