IMPORTANT

NOTESA specified procedure exists for carrying out an operational check of the taxi emergency call!

Otherwise the function will not work properly.

IMPORTANT Control unit adaptations can be used to vary actuation of the various alarm triggering devices.

Backgrounds

Taxi emergency call is available in order to minimize the risk of assault or, following an assault, the consequences for the taxi driver. This is intended to provide the taxi trade with an extended system on the basis of the automatic TELE AID emergency call.

Both systems, the automatic TELE AID emergency call and the taxi emergency call, based on the same device, the emergency call system control unit (TELE AID, A35/8), and the same functional principle.

As a result, this and the following chapters deal exclusively with the additional and modified taxi emergency call functions.

"Emergency call" trigger

The taxi emergency call function enables the taxi driver to send an emergency call in accident situations that the vehicle occupants are not aware of, using a concealed emergency call button.

IMPORTANTDialing is executed silently, neither the call sign nor the ringing tone can be heard, the display in the telephone display does not change and if the radio is switched on the volume is not reduced and it is not muted (Mute function).

After triggering the emergency call the telephone is booted again so that the emergency call system control unit (TELE AID, A35/8) can assume sole control of the telephone.

Data telegram for vehicle recognition:

After the taxi driver has actuated the emergency alarm system activation button (S62/6), the emergency call data with vehicle identification and position coordinates (GPS) generated by the emergency call system control unit (TELE AID, A35/8) are then sent by short message service (SMS) to the Emergency Call Service Center.

Coordination in Service Center:

In the Emergency Call Service Center the GPS coordinates are converted to location information, shown on a geographical highway map and then augmented by vehicle-specific data.

Unidirectional voice connection:

The complete emergency call message and the voice connection established by the emergency call system control unit (TELE AID, A35/8) for the Emergency Call Service Center are forwarded directly to the police control center.

The handsfree system in the vehicle is then activated so that the police officer dealing with the instance can hear what is happening in the vehicle.

Tracking

In contrast to the automatic and manual emergency call, the position message is transmitted every 45 seconds (tracking function) in order to track the vehicle in the case of taxi emergency call.
