| 1 | Remove detachable parts in the repair area | ||
| 2 | Cover all detachable parts remaining in vehicle (area to be repaired) | ||
| 3 | Pry out sheet metal lugs (arrows) on front axle carrier tapping plate (1) | ||
| 4 | Expose spot welds on front axle carrier tapping plate (1) and cut out (area A) | ||
| 5 | Remove damaged front axle carrier tapping plate (1) | ||
| 6 | Grind mating surfaces on front axle carrier tapping plate (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas. | ||
| 7 | Grind front axle carrier tapping plate (1) down to bare metal in shaded areas | ||
| Install | |||
| 8 | Fit front axle carrier tapping plate (1) and fasten with vise grip pliers | ||
| 9 | Front axle carrier tapping plate (1) |
||
| 10 | Level spot welds on front axle carrier tapping plate (1) if required | ||
| 11 | Clean area to be repaired with wire brush and then prime | ||

| 13 | Paint repair area adjacent surfaces | ||
