Risk of injury 

When working in the area of the roll bar unit, serious injury may occur because of the roll bar unit suddenly extending.

In particular, the roll bar unit can be inadvertently activated during diagnosis and maintenance operations at the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) (the rollover sensors are integrated into the control unit N2/10!).

It can also still be triggered automatically within 5 s after "Ignition OFF". It is therefore not sufficient to only switch off the ignition.

The roll bar unit may trigger automatically in the event of a fall from a height of greater than 0.5 m.

Safety instructions/precautions 

• Disconnect and insulate ground line of battery/batteries. When doing so, take model-specific additional batteries or external voltage sources, if applicable, into account.
• Reconnect the vehicle's power supply only after work or tests on the roll bar unit have been concluded.
• Monitor hazard area.
• Keep body parts out of the area where the roll bar unit extends.
• Secure removed roll bar unit against falling.
• Tension triggered roll bar units again only when installed and with current supply interrupted.
