Risk of injury caused by testing or repair work on roll bar units with pyrotechnical actuator - AS91.00-Z-0006-01A
Do not expose roll bar units with pyrotechnical actuators to temperatures above 100 °C. Disconnect power supply when working on such components
MODEL 207.4
Risk of injury
caused by parts flying around in the event of uncontrolled ignition of the pyrotechnical actuators at the roll bar units. Danger also exists when scrapping the pyrotechnical actuators due to insufficient safe distance during a controlled ignition and when opening with cutting torches or other cutting tools.
Safety instructions/precautions
- Do not reestablish the power supply of the vehicle until after concluding work or tests on the pyrotechnical actuator. No people are permitted to be in the vehicle interior.
- Roll bar units with pyrotechnical actuator that have dropped from a height of more than 0.5 m must be replaced.
- When scrapping by means of controlled ignition of the pyrotechnical actuator, a safe distance of at least 10 m must be maintained.
- Acquisition, transportation, storage, testing and assembly work must only be performed or supervised by properly trained personnel.
- Pyrotechnical actuators must be protected from flying sparks, open flames and temperatures above 100 °C.
- Do not allow pyrotechnical actuators to come into contact with grease, oil or cleaning agents.
- Only perform system tests on installed units using approved test equipment and with the vehicle unoccupied.
Prior to starting any bodywork or after-market installations and prior to work on roll bar units with pyrotechnical actuators and prior to work on components that are connected to the roll bar units or require intervention in their electric circuit (e.g. removal of the roll bar units):
- Remove ignition key.
- Disconnect external power sources (e.g. charging equipment).
- Disconnect and isolate the battery ground cable. When doing so, take into account any model-specific additional batteries and external power sources.
- Ensure that no power consumer is switched on.
