For operation of the vehicle theft alarm (ATA) the manufacturer's operating instructions as included with the parts kit must also be observed.
For vehicles equipped with antitheft alarm system (ATA) (code 551) the connector for the ATA control unit (N26) has to be disconnected and strapped down to ensure that two functional alarm systems are not connected at the same time. Stick white adhesive label with following text onto ATA control unit (N26). "ATA disabled because of ATA retrofit".
Slip insulation hose over lines routed outside the cable ducts or wrap fabric tape around them.
Insulate all solder connections using heat-shrinkable tube.
Use the components contained in the package contents for the electrical connections.
Program vehicle theft alarm in accordance with programming instructions.
Conduct function test to match the operator's manual for the vehicle theft alarm (ATA) as included with the parts kit.
Place operator's manual for vehicle theft alarm (ATA) into glove compartment and notify customer.
Stick vehicle theft alarm adhesive label into lower right area of side window, on driver and front passenger door.
Fill out warranty card and hand over to customer.
