DANGER Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Note on the voltage on-board electrical system   AH54.00-P-0010-01A
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove transmitter key and unplug battery charger from power supply    
2 Disconnect ground line of 12 V battery    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.10-P-0003MCC
INSTALLING Install     
3 Expose electrical connection (3) IMPORTANT The electrical connection (3) is located under the instrument panel above the installation location of the electric vehicle communications module control unit (N112/2).  
4 Fasten electric vehicle communications module control unit (N112/2) with screw/bolts (2) to bracket (1)    
5 Fasten bracket (1) with screw/bolts (4) on crossmember under the instrument panel (5) IMPORTANT Installation is marked with an arrow on the control unit Communication Module, Electric Vehicle (N112/2).  
6 Connect the previously exposed electrical connection (3) to electric vehicle communications module control unit (N112/2) and lock    
7 Connect ground line to 12 V battery

8 Enter special equipment in online vehicle data card via vehicle documentation system (VeDoc) IMPORTANTAdd: 
  • CODE B54 (COM-MODUL (traffic data and battery land))
  
9 Document retrofitted equipment through VeDoc IMPORTANT Reference text "Attach control unit communication module according to AZ08.20-P-0040MCC " the KG 82 under external organization texts.  
10 Connect Star Diagnosis and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04MCC
11 Control unit Communication module Electric vehicle - Commissioning IMPORTANT In the "Antenna" menu item, depending on the equipment, the corresponding coding must be selected (antenna connection on the control unit is occupied) external, not assigned (internal) .  
12 Disconnect Star Diagnosis    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04MCC
13 Perform function test IMPORTANT The function check must be carried out by the service consultant together with the customer.
For this purpose, the "VVC" (Vehicle Verification Code) must be generated via the "VIP Tool" (Verification Code and ID Provisioning Tool).
