Removal [06/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2015 - ] 

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2015 - ]

  3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  4. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 8 clips and guide as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect each connector to remove the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 METER HOOD CLUSTER 
    1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 1 meter hood cluster as shown in the illustration.

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and 9 guides and remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly as shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  8. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    See step  11

  10. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips in the direction indicated by the arrow (1).

    2. Pull the instrument side panel LH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel LH.
  11. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the upper instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
  12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the screw <B>.

    3. Disengage the 8 clips.

    4. Disconnect each connector and remove the lower instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
  13. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.
  14. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips in the direction indicated by the arrow (1).

    2. Pull the instrument side panel RH in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 2 guides and remove the instrument side panel RH.
  16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 17 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  17. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws, 6 clips and guide to remove the center instrument cluster finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  18. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  19. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt <A>, screw <B> and 2 clips.

    3. Pull the upper instrument panel assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) to disengage the 6 clips.

    4. Pull the upper instrument panel assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel assembly.
