DTC B11EA-11: Right Rear Door Ajar Switch circuit short to ground [07/2015 - ]: Procedure
- VERIFY MAIN BODY ECU DTCS AGAIN
- Clear the DTC for the main body ECU using the Techstream.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]
Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Clear DTCs
- Open/close the rear door (RH).
- Retrieve the main body ECU DTCs using the Techstream.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]
Body Electrical > Body Control Module > Trouble Codes
- Is the same DTC displayed?

- Clear the DTC for the main body ECU using the Techstream.
- INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK (RH) CONNECTOR CONDITION
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]
- Disconnect the rear door lock (RH) connector.
- Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
- Is the connector normal?

- Inspect the rear door latch switch (RH).

- INSPECT MAIN BODY ECU CONNECTOR CONDITION
- Disconnect the main body ECU connector
- Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
- Is the connector normal?

- INSPECT REAR DOOR LATCH SWITCH (RH) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
- Verify that the rear door lock (RH) and main body ECU connectors are disconnected.
- Inspect for continuity between rear door lock (RH) terminal F15-7*1 or F20-7*2 (wiring harness-side) and body ground.

- Is there continuity?

- VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
- Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
- Connect the negative battery cable.

- REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1.
- If the malfunction recurs, replace the main body ECU.

- If the malfunction recurs, replace the main body ECU.
- REFER TO THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS A COMMON CONNECTOR BETWEEN REAR DOOR LOCK (RH) TERMINAL F15-7*1 OR F20-7*2 AND MAIN BODY ECU TERMINAL E1-19.
- *1: w/o Smart Key System
- *2: w/ Smart Key System
- If there is a common connector
- Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
- Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
- If there is no common connector:
Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.
- Go to the next step.
