DTC U2010-11: Switch Illumination circuit short to ground [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

INSPECT POWER SOURCE CONTROL (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) CONNECTOR CONDITION

Switch the ignition off.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]
Disconnect the power source control (power management control ECU) connector.
Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

Is the connector normal?

INSPECT ILLUMINATION OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND

Verify that the power source control (power management control ECU) connector is disconnected.
Turn the headlight dimmer switch to the TNS (Parking Lights) position.
Inspect for continuity between power source control (power management control ECU) terminal 2D (wiring harness-side) and body ground.

Is there continuity?

INSPECT ILLUMINATIONS

Inspect the following parts:
- Cruise control main switch (With cruise control main switch)
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]
- Combination switch pattern select switch (With combination switch pattern select switch)
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]
- Air conditioning amplifier
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]
- Hazard warning switch
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]
- Steering pad switch (With steering pad switch)
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]
- Cluster switch.
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]
  
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]
  
  Refer to INSPECTION [07/2015 - ]

Are all parts normal?

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]
Clear the DTC for the power source control (power management control ECU) using the Techstream.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

Body Electrical > Electric Supply Unit > Clear DTCs
Turn the headlight dimmer switch to the TNS (Parking Lights) position.
Retrieve the power source control (power management control ECU) DTCs using the Techstream.
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ]

Body Electrical > Electric Supply Unit > Trouble Codes

Is the same DTC displayed?

REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONING PART ACCORDING TO THE APPLICABLE DTC TROUBLESHOOTING.

Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - ]

REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1.

If the malfunction recurs, replace the power source control (power management control ECU).
Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

Cruise control main switch - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2 (With cruise control main switch)
Shift panel (indicator) - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2 (ATX)
Combination switch pattern select switch - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2 (With combination switch pattern select switch)
Air conditioning amplifier - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2
Hazard warning switch - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2
Radio receiver - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2 (Without multi-display)
Commander switch - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2 (With multi-display)
Disc player - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2 (With Disc player)
Steering pad switch - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2 (With steering pad switch)
Cluster switch - Power source control (power management control ECU) terminal E3-2

If there is a common connector:

Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

If there is no common connector:

Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.

Go to the next step.
